There are minions now trashing the Democrats and their history. Fact is, before Thomas Jefferson took down the Federalists – who were authoritarians – there were only Democrats and most were land owners: Democratic-Republicans was their title. Few of them were slave owners. Until the "Radical Republicans" had come along, there were no so-called "Republicans". The insertion of this new party was that of a stealth program.
